Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise virtualization platforms with a primary focus on Nutanix AOS and Prism and Microsoft Hyper-V Failover Clustering.
- Manage clusters through Prism Element and Prism Central, including health monitoring, upgrades, capacity planning, trend analysis, and lifecycle management.
- Plan and implement platform upgrades, firmware and driver updates, cluster expansions, and maintenance activities while minimizing service disruption.
- Troubleshoot complex compute, storage, and virtualization networking issues, including virtual switches, VLANs, NIC teaming, and MTU configurations.
- Use AWS Systems Manager Fleet Manager and AWS Transform to monitor and manage hybrid systems.
- Assess virtualized workloads, plan migration waves, test migrations, and support workload rehosting to Amazon EC2.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity through replication, snapshots, recovery procedures, and periodic testing.
- Maintain monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and thresholds to ensure reliable platform operations.
- Automate routine administration, reporting, and configuration checks using PowerShell.
- Perform root cause analysis and maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
- Advise customers on technical requirements and recommended practices.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Systems Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise virtualization platforms, including Nutanix and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Working knowledge of compute, storage, networking, backup, and disaster recovery concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in highly available production environments.
- Experience using PowerShell or similar tools to automate routine administration and reporting.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud virtualization services, including AWS Transform and AWS Systems Manager Fleet Manager.
- Basic understanding of AWS Well-Architected principles.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence and eligibility to receive a U.S. Government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of secure administration practices, access controls, and compliance-focused environments.
- Strong understanding of Certificate Authority (CA) principles and certificate management.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting network issues.
- Familiarity with IT service design principles and best practices.
- Ability to create clear technical documentation and collaborate effectively with infrastructure, network, security, and vendor teams.
Work Model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in our office in Blue Ash, OH.
