About the Role
As a Senior Android Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and enhancing high-quality native Android applications that deliver exceptional user experiences and drive business outcomes. You will be a valued member of the mobile engineering team and collaborate closely with product managers, designers, architects, backend developers, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative and scalable mobile solutions.
In This Role, You Will
- Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development frameworks to deliver reliable, scalable, and user-centric mobile solutions.
- Implement clean, modular, and maintainable application architectures leveraging Android Jetpack components and industry-standard design patterns.
- Build intuitive, responsive, and accessible user interfaces that provide seamless customer experiences across a wide range of Android devices.
- Integrate Android platform capabilities, SDK features, backend APIs, and device services while ensuring secure and efficient data exchange.
- Optimize application performance, memory utilization, and responsiveness through profiling, monitoring, and continuous performance tuning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid development environment to translate business requirements and product concepts into high-quality mobile features.
- Conduct code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of development standards and processes.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex production issues to improve application stability, reliability, and overall user satisfaction.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
- 6+ years of experience designing and developing native Android mobile applications.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin, Android SDK, Android Studio, and modern Android development practices.
- Proven experience implementing Android architecture patterns, including MVVM, Clean Architecture, and Android Jetpack libraries.
- Experience designing scalable application navigation, data flow, state management, and reusable mobile components.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, backend integrations, data handling, error management, and secure mobile application development.
- Experience optimizing application performance, memory consumption, and responsiveness across multiple Android devices and OS versions.
- Demonstrated ability to perform debugging, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex application and production issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in Agile and cross-functional development teams.
These Will Help You Stand Out
- Experience within the Automotive domain, including connected vehicle, infotainment, or mobility solutions.
- Knowledge of constraint management and industry-specific mobile solution design.
- Experience contributing to new product development initiatives and evaluating emerging Android technologies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps practices for mobile application delivery.
- Experience documenting technical decisions, development standards, and knowledge-sharing materials.
- Exposure to accessibility standards, mobile security best practices, and Google Play Store deployment processes.

Salary and Other Compensation
Applications will be accepted until November 5th, 2026.
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $60,300 – $95,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
