Senior Data Migration Developer
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Migration Developer to lead and deliver complex data migration and data transformation initiatives supporting enterprise ERP implementations and digital transformation programs. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in SAP data migration, ETL development, data quality, and cloud-based data platforms, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale migrations to SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.
This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across global teams to ensure successful data conversion, validation, cutover, and go-live activities.
In This Role, You Will
· Design, develop, and implement end-to-end data migration solutions from legacy applications into SAP ECC, SAP GCH, and SAP S/4HANA environments.
· Lead the development of data extraction, transformation, cleansing, harmonization, and loading processes for both master and transactional data.
· Build scalable ETL and data integration solutions using SAP BODS, Syniti ADM, Informatica, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and SQL-based technologies.
· Develop and maintain conversion programs for key business objects including Material Master, Customer Master, Vendor Master, Bills of Material (BOM), Routings, Pricing, Inventory, Purchase Orders, and Financial data.
· Create and enhance metadata-driven migration frameworks that improve reusability, automation, and delivery efficiency.
· Design data quality, reconciliation, pre-validation, and post-validation reports to support migration readiness and business sign-off.
· Develop and support automated ingestion pipelines from structured and unstructured data sources including SAP, Salesforce, Oracle, SQL Server, APIs, XML, JSON, and flat files.
· Support all phases of data migration including design, build, testing, simulation, cutover, go-live, reconciliation, and hypercare.
· Analyze and resolve data migration issues through performance tuning, root cause analysis, debugging, and defect remediation.
· Partner with business stakeholders, functional consultants, architects, and project teams across multiple regions to deliver successful migration outcomes.
· Contribute to data harmonization, data governance, and AI-enabled data transformation initiatives leveraging modern cloud technologies.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
· 8+ years of experience in Data Migration, ETL Development, or Data Integration projects.
· Proven experience delivering multiple enterprise-scale SAP data migration projects.
· Strong hands-on experience with:
o SAP BODS (BusinessObjects Data Services)
o Syniti ADM
o SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA
o SQL and relational databases
o ETL design, development, and optimization
· Experience migrating both Master Data and Transactional Data.
· Strong knowledge of data cleansing, data quality, data validation, and reconciliation processes.
· Experience developing data pipelines and integrations across multiple source systems and file formats.
· Proficiency with Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, DB2, Netezza, Sybase, or similar database technologies.
· Experience working within Agile delivery methodologies.
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
These Will Help You Stand Out
· Experience with Databricks and Data Harmonization initiatives.
· Exposure to Generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar AI-assisted development technologies.
· Experience with Azure Data Platform services including:
o Azure Data Factory
o Azure Data Lake Storage
o Azure Synapse Analytics
· Programming experience with Python, Scala, Shell Scripting, Apache Spark, Hive, or HBase.
· Experience integrating Salesforce, Oracle EBS, EPIC Clarity, CRM, or other enterprise applications.
· Knowledge of SAP IDocs, BAPIs, and SAP data load strategies.
· Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps and GitHub.
· Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or OBIEE.
· Experience supporting global ERP transformation or SAP S/4HANA migration programs.
Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until October 5th, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $88,000 - $132,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
