Role overview

Define enterprise storage, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery architecture for on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

· Define storage and backup strategy, standards, target architecture, and technology roadmaps.

· Design SAN, NAS, object, software-defined, archival, and cloud storage solutions.

· Design backup and recovery services using platforms such as Veeam, NetBackup, and Azure Recovery Services.

· Develop recovery patterns, RPO/RTO alignment, replication, business continuity, and DR execution approaches.

· Lead data centre migration, storage modernisation, platform consolidation, and lifecycle initiatives.

· Perform capacity planning, performance optimisation, resilience assessment, and cost optimisation.

· Embed encryption, access control, data protection, retention, and GDPR-aligned compliance controls.

· Provide architecture governance, vendor coordination, technical workshops, and operational handover documentation.

· Dell EMC or NetApp storage certification

· Strong ownership, analytical troubleshooting, stakeholder communication, and documentation discipline.

· Ability to work within enterprise change, incident, problem, security, audit, and service management controls.

· Participation in agreed support coverage, transition, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement activities.
