Job Summary

Sr Software Engineer B2 with six to eight years of experience will design develop and optimize telecom focused applications using Java Spring Boot AWS SQL PL or SQL and JavaScript in a hybrid work model This role will ensure scalable secure and resilient systems that enhance customer experiences and support critical telecom business operations.

Responsibilities

1 Strategic Direction Mainframe Modernization

The primary focus is on modernizing mainframe workloads to AWSnative architecture

The solution approach will be applicationspecific driven by treatment strategiesarchetypes but predominantly AWSbased

2 Target Technology Stack Indicative

Cloud Infrastructure

AWSnative stack is the standard

o S3 Fargate serverless architecture

o AWS pipelines

Data Backend

RDBMS Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL

ETL AWS Glue development

Additional areas continuous data change ETL scripting

Customernative pipeline

Application Layer

Backend likely moving toward modern stacks eg Javabased architectures

Frontend discussions indicate preference toward React though flexible

3 Emerging Capability Requirements

Strong emphasis on

o AWS development expertise

o Familiarity with agentbased architectures AWS AgentCore

o Exposure to AWS Transform tools for modernization

Teams expected to work with agentic patterns cloudnative services

Design and implement scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot to support high volume telecom applications in a reliable and maintainable manner

Develop and optimize complex SQL and PL or SQL queries and procedures to ensure high performance data processing for telecom usage records and customer information

Build and maintain RESTful services that integrate telecom platforms with internal and external systems to ensure consistent data flow and operational stability

Configure and use AWS services such as compute storage and managed databases to host and scale telecom applications while aligning with organizational cloud standards

Create intuitive JavaScript based user interfaces that enable telecom operations teams to monitor networks manage customers and analyze service metrics efficiently

Collaborate with cross functional teams including product owners testers and telecom domain specialists to translate business requirements into well designed technical solutions

Implement rigorous unit integration and system tests to ensure reliable software releases and reduce production incidents in critical telecom environments

Monitor application performance logs and metrics proactively to identify bottlenecks and implement tuning strategies that improve response times and system throughput

Apply secure coding practices and adhere to compliance guidelines to protect telecom customer data and maintain regulatory alignment across all software components

Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines by automating build test and deployment workflows for Java and Spring Boot services hosted on AWS

Document system designs data flows and operational procedures clearly so that teams can maintain troubleshoot and enhance telecom solutions efficiently over time

Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to maintain code quality consistency and adherence to telecom architecture standards

Engage in incident analysis and problem resolution activities to identify root causes and implement long term fixes that improve reliability of telecom platforms

Qualifications

Possess six to eight years of hands on experience in Java and Spring Boot development with a strong focus on building enterprise grade transactional systems

Demonstrate advanced proficiency in SQL and PL or SQL including query tuning index strategies and complex stored procedures on platforms such as MySQL or similar relational databases

Show practical experience working with AWS cloud services including deployment configuration monitoring and cost optimization for production workloads

Exhibit strong skills in JavaScript and related front end practices to create responsive and accessible web interfaces used by telecom operations and business users

Bring proven experience delivering solutions in the telecom domain including understanding of billing network operations customer management and related data models

Display solid understanding of software engineering practices such as object oriented design version control branching strategies code review and automated testing

Communicate effectively with technical and non technical stakeholders in a hybrid work environment ensuring alignment on requirements status and delivery expectations
