About the role
As a Senior Facets Solutions Engineer, you will make an impact by designing and delivering scalable healthcare solutions across claims adjudication, payment integrity, and utilization management. You will be a valued member of our technology and consulting team, collaborating with business stakeholders, project managers, and engineering teams to modernize applications and improve operational efficiency.
This role is ideal for a technology professional with deep Facets expertise and a strong understanding of modern engineering practices, cloud transformation, and healthcare payer systems.
In this role, you will:
- Partner with business stakeholders and project teams to identify inefficiencies in current processes and applications, and recommend scalable, outcome‑driven solutions.
- Gather, analyze, and clarify business and technical requirements, providing effort estimates and supporting delivery planning.
- Design and implement solutions across Facets Claims Adjudication, Payment Integrity, and Utilization Management.
- Support application modernization and cloud migration initiatives using modern technologies and best practices.
- Apply Agile, DevOps, Automation, and AI concepts to enhance solution delivery and operational efficiency.
- Develop and review system designs, integration mappings, and detailed architecture documentation.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment across systems.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize performance, scalability, and user experience.

What you need to have to be considered
- Strong experience with Facets Claims Adjudication, Utilization Management, Benefits & Products, and Payment processing (EOB/EOP).
- Knowledge of HIPAA Gateway transactions (837I/837P).
- Hands‑on experience with .NET, SQL, HTML, UNIX, and MS SQL Server.
- Experience working with AWS or cloud‑based environments.
- Proven ability to gather requirements, design solutions, and support delivery in a complex healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of system integration concepts and architecture design.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
These will help you stand out
- Experience with healthcare payer transformation or modernization initiatives.
- Exposure to Agile, DevOps, automation, or AI‑driven solution frameworks.
- Experience working on cloud migration or hybrid architecture programs.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across global delivery teams.
- Strong documentation and technical design capabilities.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $119K-$140K CAD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
