Banking & Financial Services Consulting
Cognizant’s Banking & Financial Services (BFS) Consulting team is seeking talented consultants with business analysis and digital change delivery experience to work with our ecosystem of clients, alliances, start-ups, and design agencies to deliver the next generation of banking products and experiences. This role provides an opportunity to join a rapidly growing, high energy and entrepreneurial team working with leading Benelux based clients.
Role Overview
The Axiom Regulatory Reporting Business Analyst is responsible for gathering requirements, designing reporting solutions, and supporting the end‑to‑end delivery of regulatory reports using the AxiomSL ControllerView platform. The role bridges business, data, and technology teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant regulatory submissions.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
Work with Risk, Finance, Treasury, and Regulatory Reporting teams to understand reporting requirements (e.g., FR Y‑9C, FFIEC 031/041, FR Y‑14, 2052a, Basel, Liquidity reports).
Translate regulatory instructions and business needs into functional and technical requirements for Axiom.
Analyze data sources, data gaps, and transformation logic needed for Axiom data models.
AxiomSL ControllerView Design & Configuration
Create and maintain Axiom data dictionaries, data mappings, and transformation rules.
Support the configuration of Axiom modules, templates, and workflows.
Collaborate with developers to implement data ingestion, validation rules, and report logic.
Data Analysis & Validation
Perform detailed data analysis across multiple source systems (GL, Risk, Treasury, Data Warehouse).
Validate Axiom outputs against regulatory instructions and business expectations.
Investigate data quality issues and coordinate remediation with upstream teams.
Testing & Quality Assurance
Develop test plans, test cases, and expected results for Axiom reporting changes.
Execute SIT, UAT, and regression testing for new reports, enhancements, and regulatory updates.
Ensure completeness and accuracy of Axiom submissions before production release.
Regulatory Change Management
Interpret new regulatory requirements and assess their impact on Axiom reporting.
Support implementation of regulatory updates (Fed, OCC, FDIC, PRA, EBA, MAS, etc.).
Maintain documentation for audit and regulatory review.
Production Support & Issue Resolution
Provide L2/L3 support for Axiom production cycles.
Troubleshoot data issues, mapping errors, and rule failures.
Work with technology teams to resolve defects and optimize performance.
Governance, Controls & Documentation
Maintain process documentation, data lineage, and control evidence.
Support internal audit, external audit, and regulatory exams.
Ensure compliance with model governance, data governance, and operational risk standards.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
Strong hands‑on experience with AxiomSL ControllerView
Knowledge of regulatory reporting frameworks (FR Y‑14, FR Y‑9C, FFIEC, Basel, Liquidity, 2052a)
SQL proficiency for data analysis and validation
Understanding of data models, ETL processes, and financial systems
Business Skills
Strong understanding of banking products (loans, deposits, derivatives, securities, trading products)
Familiarity with US regulatory requirements (Federal Reserve, OCC, FDIC)
Ability to interpret regulatory instructions and translate them into reporting logic
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work under tight reporting deadlines
