About Cognizant

Cognizant is an AI Builder and technology services provider, building the bridge between AI investment and enterprise value. We help the world’s leading organizations modernize technology, reimagine processes and transform experiences so they can stay ahead in a fast-changing world. Together, we are improving everyday life for people, businesses and communities.

The Opportunity

The Client Relationship Manager, Insurance is a senior sales role responsible for driving CRM-led growth within Cognizant’s Japan Insurance client accounts. Reporting to the Client Partner / Insurance Practice Lead, Japan, the AD owns CRM engagement outcomes, builds and manages a qualified pipeline, and leads consultative, multi-year CRM transformation deals — spanning Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and adjacent platforms — for Japanese insurance carriers.

This is a build-and-scale mandate for a proven CRM sales and delivery leader who can extend Cognizant’s positioning as an AI Builder and technology services provider into CRM modernization, customer engagement and digital service initiatives across Japan’s insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities

Client relationship & stakeholder engagement: Build and manage relationships with IT, business and CRM/marketing stakeholders — CIO, CMO, Head of Customer Experience — within assigned Japanese insurance accounts.

Trusted advisor: Act as the trusted CRM advisor to clients, aligning Cognizant’s CRM and AI-enabled offerings with client business strategy, and supporting QBRs and governance forums alongside the Client Partner.

CRM revenue ownership: Drive revenue growth, TCV, margin and wallet-share expansion for the CRM service line within existing insurance accounts, with quota ownership for the service line.

Pipeline & deal closure: Identify, qualify and close new CRM opportunities — run, grow, transform — across Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and adjacent platforms, and build a healthy, predictable pipeline with strong deal velocity.

Large-deal leadership: Lead complex, multi-year CRM transformation deals using a consultative sales approach.

Account strategy & planning: Define and execute CRM account growth strategy and roadmap aligned to Japan insurance market dynamics, including account plans, white-space analysis and client blueprints.

AI-led positioning: Anticipate client needs and proactively propose CRM, digital, data and AI-enabled customer engagement solutions, positioning Cognizant as an AI Builder and technology services provider — not just a CRM implementation vendor.

Delivery oversight: Ensure high-quality CRM delivery, contractual compliance and operational excellence, partnering closely with CRM Delivery Leads, Service Lines and Insurance Practice Leads.

Governance & financial hygiene: Own risk management, escalation handling and recovery plans for CRM engagements, and drive strong financial hygiene — forecasting, revenue assurance, AR and margin management.

Team leadership: Lead cross-functional CRM teams across sales, delivery, consulting and operations, and provide clear direction to virtual, multicultural and offshore delivery teams.

Internal leadership: Act as a role model for Cognizant values, compliance and ethical conduct, and contribute to Japan insurance vertical leadership forums and CRM practice growth initiatives.

Performance Measures

Success in the role is measured against a clear set of outcomes:

• Revenue growth, TCV and margin performance for the CRM service line within assigned accounts.

• Pipeline health and win rate — coverage, velocity and conversion of qualified CRM opportunities.

• Delivery quality — contractual compliance, CSAT/NPS and client reference strength on CRM engagements.

• Financial hygiene — forecasting accuracy, revenue assurance and AR management.

• Client satisfaction and long-term partnership continuity across assigned insurance accounts.

Candidate Profile

This is a senior CRM sales and delivery role; candidates should bring direct IT services CRM experience rather than a general account or program management background. The following are essential:

• 8–12+ years of experience in IT services, consulting or technology-led CRM sales/delivery roles — direct IT services CRM sales or delivery experience is required and distinct from general account management or program management backgrounds.

• Proven experience selling or delivering CRM platforms — Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or equivalent — within large enterprise accounts.

• Experience within the Insurance industry (life, P&C or health) strongly preferred.

• Track record of senior stakeholder engagement and mid-to-large deal closure.

• Deep understanding of Japan business culture, decision-making and governance.

• Strong financial acumen — forecasting, margins and commercial negotiations.

• Proven experience selling AI-led and solution-based offerings, with credibility to position Cognizant as an AI Builder and technology services provider in CRM and customer engagement conversations.

• Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics certification preferred, not required.

• Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.
