About the role

As an SAP Data Services ETL Developer, you will make an impact by designing and delivering scalable, high-quality data integration solutions that power enterprise data platforms. You will be a valued member of the data engineering team and work collaboratively with business systems analysts, QA teams, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable and accurate data delivery across SAP and non-SAP environments.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS) jobs, workflows, and dataflows
  • Build and support ETL pipelines integrating SAP (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, HANA) and non-SAP sources (Oracle, SQL Server, flat files, cloud storage)
  • Implement data transformation, cleansing, and data quality rules using BODS transforms
  • Develop and manage Slowly Changing Dimensions (Type 1 & Type 2) and surrogate key strategies
  • Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability, and reliability while supporting testing, deployment, and production operations

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2–3 days a week in a client office in Toronto, Canada. What you need to have to be considered

  • 5+ years of hands-on ETL development experience using SAP BODS / SAP Data Services
  • Strong expertise in building jobs, workflows, and dataflows, along with core BODS transforms (Query, Lookup, Merge, Validation, Match, Address Cleanse)
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including fact/dimension modeling and star/snowflake schemas
  • Proven experience implementing Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD) and data integration best practices
  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting

These will help you stand out

  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise data warehouse (EDW) or data migration programs
  • Ability to troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize batch processes using BODS Management Console
  • Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams including BSA, QA, and business stakeholders
  • Strong documentation skills across job design, data mappings, and operational runbooks
  • Exposure to production support, UAT cycles, and post-go-live stabilization activities

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until June 14, 2026.

The annual salary for this position is between 88,000 - 107,000 CAD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
