We are looking for an experienced IT/OT Project Manager to support an Edge Cloud transformation programme, focused on the migration of OT applications and workloads from VMware-based infrastructure to Azure Local / Hyper-V. The role will be responsible for managing application migration activities across OT systems, ensuring that planning, coordination, execution, validation, and stakeholder alignment are
performed in a controlled manner. A key focus will be managing migration windows during planned site shutdowns, where OT system availability, vendor readiness, business continuity, and recovery planning are critical.
This is a project management role requiring strong experience in IT/OT infrastructure migration, manufacturing environments, and cross-functional coordination between IT, OT, automation, vendors, and site teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end planning and execution of OT application migration activities from VMware to Azure Local / Hyper-V.
- Coordinate migration activities for OT systems, applications, and supporting infrastructure within the Edge Cloud programme.
- Build and maintain detailed migration plans, including dependencies, timelines, site readiness, application readiness, and shutdown windows.
- Manage migration execution during planned manufacturing shutdowns, ensuring activities are completed within approved windows.
- Coordinate with site OT teams, IT infrastructure teams, automation teams, application owners, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Track application dependencies, including servers, network connectivity, firewall rules, VLANs, IP addressing, hostnames, MAC address dependencies, backup requirements, and validation needs.
- Ensure each migration has a clear rollback plan, recovery approach, and business continuity consideration.
- Manage risks, issues, actions, decisions, and dependencies across multiple stakeholders.
- Support readiness assessments, migration runbooks, cutover planning, hypercare, and post-migration validation.
- Ensure required change controls, CAB approvals, and documentation are prepared and completed before migration.
- Drive regular status reporting, RAID management, stakeholder updates, and executive-level progress communication.
- Ensure migration activities are aligned with OT cybersecurity, site governance, and regulated manufacturing requirements.
- Work with technical teams to ensure that migrated workloads are validated and operational after migration.
- Support lessons learned and continuous improvement across sites and migration waves.
Required Experience:
- Proven experience as an IT/OT Project Manager, Infrastructure Project Manager, or Technical Project Manager in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Experience managing infrastructure or application migrations involving VMware, Hyper-V, Azure Local, or similar virtualization platforms
- Strong understanding of OT environments, including manufacturing systems, automation systems, OT networks, and site operations.
- Experience managing migrations during planned shutdowns, maintenance windows, or controlled production downtime.
- Strong stakeholder management across IT, OT, engineering, automation, vendors, and business teams.
- Experience with change control, CAB governance, cutover planning, rollback planning, and post-migration support.
- Ability to manage complex dependencies across applications, servers, networks, firewalls, backups, and validation activities.
- Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments is preferred, especially Life Sciences, Pharma, FMCG, or similar sectors.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical migration risks into clear business impact.
- Ability to work independently in a complex, multi-site programme environment.
Technical Knowledge:
The candidate should have a working understanding of:
- VMware to Hyper-V / Azure Local migration concepts.
- OT application hosting and infrastructure dependencies.
- Virtual machines, host clusters, storage, backup, and restore processes.
- VLANs, IP addressing, DNS, firewall rules, routing, and network segmentation.
- OT cybersecurity principles and secure migration practices.
- Manufacturing systems such as SCADA, MES, historians, batch systems, lab systems, automation servers, or related OT applications.
- Cutover planning, migration runbooks, rollback procedures, and hypercare models.
- GxP, validation, and regulated documentation requirements would be an advantage.

- Site and application readiness tracker.
- Application dependency and risk register.
- Shutdown migration schedule.
- Cutover and rollback plan.
- Migration runbook.
- Stakeholder communication plan.
