The Site Support Tech is a customer-facing technical professional responsible for providing onsite and remote support to end users, ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software, and infrastructure-related issues.
This role plays a critical part in maintaining operational efficiency, user productivity, and service excellence by diagnosing technical problems, performing repairs, and supporting IT infrastructure in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $60,000 to $70,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
In this role, you will
Deliver comprehensive onsite hardware and software support, including break/fix services.
Provide deskside support covering PC staging, asset management, software installation, troubleshooting, and printer support.
Manage and resolve ServiceNow (or equivalent ITSM) tickets, ensuring timely updates and closure.
Perform end-user support across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
Diagnose and resolve end-user system issues, implementing effective repair solutions.
Conduct virus detection, prevention, and eradication to maintain system security.
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues to ensure seamless communication between devices and network systems.
Support account management tasks, including user setup, access requests, and compliance activities.
Maintain accurate records for asset tracking and inventory management.
Provide printer, scanner, and VoIP phone system support as required.
Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.
What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)
· Technical degree or equivalent experience in end-user support.
· 4-6 years of hands-on experience in deskside support and troubleshooting (hardware, software, networking, printing, file shares, etc.).
· Strong knowledge of Windows (7/10) and macOS/iOS systems, with ability to resolve OS-related issues.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
· Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
· Familiarity with Active Directory (user account creation and management).
· Experience supporting mobile devices and enterprise infrastructure environments.
· Knowledge of computer asset tracking and inventory systems.
· Understanding of antivirus tools (e.g., Symantec Endpoint Protection).
· Exposure to VoIP systems and network phone administration.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when handling IT equipment.
· Excellent customer service, communication, and multitasking skills.
· Strong team collaboration mindset.
· Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is an asset.
