Job summary
Serve as a senior consultant in cards and payments projects guiding complex solution delivery for global banking clients in a hybrid work model. Apply deep expertise in payments products and transaction processing to improve reliability compliance and customer experience while collaborating with cross functional teams. Contribute to innovation that advances secure and inclusive digital payments.
Responsibilities
- Drive discovery sessions with business and technology stakeholders to understand current cards and payments processes pain points and strategic objectives translating them into clear and practical solution requirements.
- Design end to end solutions for cards and payment flows including authorization clearing settlement dispute handling and reconciliation that align with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Lead analysis of existing payments product capabilities and gaps proposing enhancements that improve straight through processing transaction speed and operational resilience.
- Coordinate with architecture and development teams to define integration patterns for payment gateways core banking systems fraud monitoring tools and external networks.
- Prepare detailed functional specifications user stories and process flows for cards and payments features to ensure shared understanding and traceability across the delivery lifecycle.
- Guide configuration and parameterization of payment products such as card management digital wallets and merchant acquiring to align with client specific business rules and pricing models.
- Conduct impact assessments for regulatory and scheme changes in the cards and payments space recommending system and process updates that maintain compliance while minimizing disruption.
- Plan and execute functional and end to end testing of cards and payment journeys including test data design scenario coverage and defect triage to assure production readiness.
- Deliver walkthroughs demos and knowledge transfer sessions for client users and internal teams to ensure smooth adoption of new or enhanced payments capabilities.
- Collaborate with risk compliance and security teams to embed controls that reduce fraud chargebacks and operational risk across the cards and payments ecosystem.
- Analyze transaction data and operational metrics to identify optimization opportunities proposing improvements that increase approval rates reduce failures and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Support production go live activities and post implementation monitoring for new payments releases promptly addressing issues to protect service continuity and client trust.
- Contribute to internal accelerators templates and best practice playbooks for cards and payments consulting that strengthen the company offering and market differentiation.
- Participate in hybrid work ceremonies including virtual and onsite workshops ensuring effective communication and collaboration across distributed project teams.
- Advise clients on emerging trends in digital payments real time rails and card innovations positioning solutions that promote financial inclusion and sustainable growth.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate six to ten years of hands on experience in cards and payments domains covering issuing acquiring or payment processing platforms in banking or financial services environments.
- Exhibit strong functional knowledge of payments products such as card management systems payment switches domestic and international schemes and digital payment channels.
- Apply practical experience with requirements analysis solution design and documentation for complex payment flows involving multiple internal systems and external networks.
- Show proficiency in drafting user stories process maps and functional specifications using standard tools and techniques commonly adopted in consulting engagements.
- Display familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards relevant to payments including card scheme mandates data protection guidelines and local market regulations.
- Utilize excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to engage business users technical teams and external partners in a clear and respectful manner.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to investigate transaction issues pinpoint root causes and recommend pragmatic remediation steps.
- Value experience in agile or iterative delivery models as a strong advantage including participation in backlog refinement sprint planning and review ceremonies.
- Appreciate previous exposure to analytics or reporting on payments and card performance as a helpful complement to core consulting responsibilities.
