Job Summary

Serve as a Technical Lead in a hybrid work model guiding the design development and maintenance of robust mainframe applications using PL1 JCL DB2 IBM mainframe utilities and CA Gen tools while using Microsoft GitHub Copilot to improve code quality service reliability and delivery efficiency for enterprise scale asset management solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Lead complex mainframe application design and development using PL1 JCL DB2 and IBM mainframe utilities to deliver stable and high performing enterprise solutions that meet demanding business requirements in a hybrid work model.
  • Oversee end to end lifecycle of CA Gen based applications from impact analysis and design through build test and deployment to ensure consistent quality and maintainability across the mainframe portfolio.
  • Provide hands on technical guidance on the effective use of Microsoft GitHub Copilot to accelerate coding tasks enforce coding patterns and improve code readability while maintaining strong governance practices.
  • Coordinate closely with product owners business analysts and operations partners to translate functional needs into efficient mainframe designs that are resilient scalable and aligned with business priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement of batch and online processing by tuning JCL optimizing DB2 queries and refining PL1 logic to reduce processing time resource usage and operational incidents.
  • Ensure robust application stability by defining and implementing standards for error handling logging and recovery in mainframe components minimizing downtime and reducing support costs.
  • Perform detailed code reviews and quality checks on PL1 CA Gen and JCL deliverables identifying defects early and guiding team members toward sustainable technical patterns.
  • Partner with IT service management teams to refine incident problem and change processes so that mainframe releases fixes and enhancements follow disciplined governance and audit ready documentation practices.
  • Collaborate with testing teams to define effective test strategies test data needs and regression coverage that protect critical business flows and reduce production defects.
  • Apply knowledge of IBM mainframe utilities for data migration file management and environment housekeeping supporting secure and efficient operations across development and production landscapes.
  • Engage with stakeholders in asset management operations when relevant to clarify data flows valuation rules and reporting needs to ensure applications provide reliable and timely information for decision making.
  • Mentor engineers in the thoughtful adoption of Microsoft GitHub Copilot by demonstrating prompt techniques code validation habits and responsible use that improves productivity without compromising quality.
  • Monitor system performance metrics and operational dashboards to anticipate capacity needs propose improvements and support planning activities that align with future business growth.
  • Coordinate hybrid work practices by using digital collaboration tools structured communication routines and clear documentation so that geographically distributed team members can deliver consistently.


Qualifications

  • Require deep hands on expertise with PL1 language constructs debugging approaches and performance tuning on IBM mainframe platforms to build and maintain mission critical transaction and batch solutions.
  • Require strong proficiency in JCL including job setup condition handling restart logic and scheduling coordination to orchestrate complex batch workflows in an enterprise environment.
  • Require practical experience with DB2 on mainframe covering data modeling SQL optimization and troubleshooting of locking and performance issues that impact business processes.
  • Require solid working knowledge of IBM mainframe utilities such as file handling sort utilities and dataset management tools to support development testing and production support activities.
  • Require hands on experience with CA Gen tools including model maintenance generation and deployment processes to sustain and enhance existing application landscapes.
  • Require demonstrated experience using Microsoft GitHub Copilot or similar AI assisted coding tools to improve development speed while maintaining robust review and validation routines.
  • Require familiarity with IT service management practices including incident management problem management and change management processes to align development work with operational stability goals.
  • Nice to have background in asset management operations domain that includes understanding of reference data trade capture positions valuations and client reporting to design features that align with industry needs.
  • Nice to have experience in hybrid work environments that rely on structured communication remote collaboration tools and clear documentation to coordinate deliverables across locations.


Certifications Required

Preferred certifications include IBM Certified Database Administrator DB2 and ITIL Foundation.
