Job Summary
Architect role in a hybrid work model focusing on design and delivery of scalable enterprise applications using Core Java Spring Framework Spring Boot and Maven within the cards and payments domain. The architect will ensure robust solution design compliance with security and regulatory standards and seamless integration with complex payment ecosystems.
Responsibilities
- Design end to end application architectures for cards and payments platforms that are secure scalable and optimized for high transaction volumes in a hybrid work environment.
- Develop reference implementations using Core Java Spring Framework Spring Boot and Maven to demonstrate best practices for reusable components and modular services.
- Guide solution design to ensure that card issuance authorization clearing and settlement flows are modeled with high reliability and compliance to industry regulations and company standards.
- Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to translate cards and payments requirements into technical solutions that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Review application code and configuration for services built on Spring Boot and Maven to ensure strict adherence to coding guidelines performance targets and security baselines.
- Optimize integration patterns for external payment networks and internal systems by defining clear contracts error handling strategies and monitoring approaches that reduce downtime.
- Define non functional requirements for latency throughput resilience and observability and ensure these are met through thoughtful use of Core Java concurrency and Spring Framework features.
- Coordinate with quality engineering teams to define test strategies including unit integration performance and regression tests that validate complex cards and payments scenarios.
- Produce detailed architectural documentation and solution diagrams that clearly describe service boundaries data flows and deployment topologies for distributed applications.
- Evaluate existing applications in the cards and payments portfolio to identify modernization opportunities that simplify maintenance and reduce long term technology risk.
- Mentor developers and technical analysts by explaining architectural decisions reviewing designs and promoting continuous improvement in engineering practices and tools.
- Engage with security and compliance teams to incorporate standards for encryption tokenization data privacy and auditability directly into the application architecture.
- Partner with operations and site reliability teams to define deployment strategies capacity plans and monitoring dashboards that support stable day shift operations without travel requirements.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate strong hands on expertise in Core Java with a solid understanding of object oriented design collections concurrency and performance tuning for enterprise scale systems.
- Exhibit deep experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot for building microservices dependency injection data access layers and robust application configuration.
- Apply advanced proficiency with Maven for dependency management build automation and multi module project structures that support complex enterprise applications.
- Show proven experience in cards and payments including transaction lifecycle messaging standards risk controls and integration with payment networks and internal banking systems.
- Utilize experience of at least nine years in software architecture or senior engineering roles with a focus on end to end design and delivery of large scale platforms.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model by using collaborative tools documentation and clear communication to keep distributed teams aligned.
- Leverage strong problem solving and analytical skills to investigate production incidents in cards and payments systems and drive sustainable architectural improvements.
