About the role
As a Senior AVEVA OSI PI Lead Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, implementing, and optimizing PI system architectures and data solutions within regulated pharmaceutical environments. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders, including automation, IT/OT, and client teams.
In this role, you will:
Lead the design, development, and optimization of AVEVA PI (OSI PI) systems and architectures
Develop and maintain PI tags, Asset Framework (AF) templates, analyses, and event frames
Design and implement PI Vision dashboards and data visualization solutions
Support system lifecycle activities including development, testing, commissioning, and qualification
Provide ongoing PI system support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement under change control
Work model:

What you need to have to be considered:
10+ years of experience with AVEVA PI (OSI PI) systems in regulated industries
Strong experience in PI Server installation, configuration, upgrades, and performance tuning
Hands-on expertise with PI Asset Framework (AF), analytics, and data modeling
Experience with SQL Server and data migration activities
Proven experience supporting pharmaceutical environments and validation frameworks (e.g., GAMP, ISA-88)
Strong knowledge of Windows OS, system architecture, networking, and security fundamentals
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
These will help you stand out:
Experience leading PI system upgrades and mentoring technical teams
Experience with .NET development or PI SDK / AF SDK integrations
Familiarity with PI client tools such as PI Vision, DataLink, and RtReports
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a structured problem-solving approach
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients and cross-functional teams

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until June 28, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $113,000 - $130,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
