Job Summary

Serve as a functional architect in the integrated services groupAPI & integration architecture (REST SOAP middleware) Enterprise system architecture design (ERP CRM eCommerce payments loyalty) defining end to end solutions that use webservices and rest api technologies to digitize finance and accounting processes in a hybrid work model collaborating with cross functional teams to translate complex business needs into scalable secure and maintainable enterprise applications.

  • Lead functional solution design for complex enterprise applications that rely on webservices and rest api integrations to support critical finance and accounting operations in a day shift hybrid work environment.
  • Translate multifaceted business requirements from finance and accounting partners into clear functional specifications that guide technical teams implementing soap based and restful service interfaces.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners business analysts and engineering teams to refine user journeys and service flows ensuring that all webservices and api interactions align with compliance and audit needs.
  • Define detailed interface contracts data mappings and error handling rules for soap and restful services so that downstream systems receive accurate timely and traceable information.
  • Review and validate service orchestration designs to ensure that chained webservices and apis deliver reliable end to end transaction processing for finance and accounting use cases.
  • Provide functional oversight during sprint planning backlog refinement and release readiness activities so that api related user stories and acceptance criteria are complete testable and aligned with architectural standards.
  • Guide teams in applying best practices for api versioning security and performance so that service consumers across the enterprise can integrate smoothly with minimal rework.
  • Work with quality assurance specialists to define functional test scenarios and data sets that cover edge cases in webservice and api behavior across core finance and accounting workflows.
  • Analyze production incidents and recurring defects related to service integrations and propose functional design improvements that increase stability and user trust in the solutions.
  • Document end to end business process flows and service interaction diagrams so that stakeholders have a transparent view of how information moves across the finance and accounting landscape.
  • Partner with infrastructure and monitoring teams to identify functional health indicators for key apis and webservices enabling proactive detection of anomalies that may affect financial reporting cycles.
  • Contribute to governance forums by presenting functional design options and tradeoffs that balance regulatory needs performance expectations and long term maintainability of service based solutions.
  • Mentor junior analysts and functional designers by sharing practical guidance on modeling service based processes and clarifying how robust functional architecture supports the company mission and broader society through trustworthy financial systems.

  • Qualifications

  • Display extensive experience in designing and documenting functional architectures for applications that consume and expose soap webservices and rest api interfaces within complex enterprises.
  • Apply deep hands on exposure to rest api concepts including resource modeling authentication pagination error handling and idempotency to ensure resilient integrations.
  • Leverage practical understanding of finance and accounting concepts such as general ledger invoicing and reconciliation to shape solutions that meet domain expectations even when requirements are ambiguous.
  • Demonstrate strong ability to work effectively in hybrid teams across locations using collaborative tools to maintain continuous alignment on functional scope and design decisions.
  • Utilize excellent communication and facilitation skills to bridge perspectives between business stakeholders and technical specialists ensuring shared understanding of service enabled solutions.
  • Exhibit proven experience of at least ten years in enterprise scale functional analysis or solution architecture with recent focus on webservices and api driven transformations.
  • Show familiarity with industry standards for integration patterns and message structures which supports consistent and interoperable designs across finance and accounting platforms.

  • Certifications Required

    Certification in web services or api design such as a rest api design certification or equivalent industry recognized credential.
