About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP FS-CD Techno-Functional Consultant with deep expertise in SAP FS-CD processes and strong ABAP development capabilities. This role involves translating business requirements into technical solutions, supporting end-to-end SAP FS-CD implementations, and contributing to production support, integration, and release management activities.
In this role you will
- Design, develop, and support SAP FS-CD solutions with a techno-functional approach
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
- Develop and enhance ABAP-based solutions across RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows)
- Work closely with business users, domain experts, and development teams to deliver scalable solutions
- Configure and support SAP FS-CD processes and ensure alignment with business objectives
- Develop and integrate SAP systems using OData services, Web Services, RFCs, ALE/IDOCs, BAPIs, BADIs, and enhancements
- Build and enhance workflows, user exits, and enhancement frameworks
- Design and model OData services using SAP Gateway Service Builder
- Develop complex objects using ABAP and Object-Oriented ABAP
- Work on CDS Views and AMDP procedures for optimized data processing
- Support integrations between SAP FS-CD and third-party systems such as banking interfaces
- Participate in system testing, UAT support, and production deployment activities
- Collaborate with release management and production operations teams
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for SAP FS-CD applications
- Ensure adherence to SAP best practices and standards in development and configuration
Work Model: Hybrid – Detroit, MI
What you need to have to be considered
- 8–10+ years of SAP experience with strong focus on SAP ECC 6.0 core modules
- Minimum 2 full lifecycle implementations in SAP FS-CD and at least 1 S/4HANA implementation
- Strong SAP FS-CD domain and process knowledge (Insurance domain preferred)
- Hands-on experience in ABAP development including RICEFW objects
- Expertise in OData, Web Services, RFCs, ALE/IDOCs, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, and workflows
- Experience with FQ events for enhancements
- Strong experience designing OData services using Gateway Service Builder
- Experience in Adobe Forms development
- Knowledge of CDS Views and AMDP procedures
- Strong experience integrating SAP FS-CD with external systems (e.g., banks)
- Proven ability to support UAT, production operations, and release management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills

- Exposure to Dealer Reinsurance projects
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in complex SAP environments
- Experience working in distributed teams and cross-functional environments

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $83,250–$112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
