About the role
As a Senior SDET – Test Automation (Playwright/Selenium), you will make an impact by designing, developing, and implementing scalable test automation solutions that improve software quality, accelerate release cycles, and enhance customer experiences. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, DevOps Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality applications.
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, TypeScript, and Java.
Create and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test solutions across multiple applications and platforms.
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and support rapid software delivery.
Analyze test execution results, identify defects, and partner with development teams to drive timely issue resolution.
Enhance automation coverage, maintain reusable test assets, and continuously improve testing processes, quality metrics, and engineering best practices.

What you need to have to be considered
7+ years of strong experience in test automation using Playwright and/or Selenium.
Hands-on programming experience with Java and TypeScript.
Proven experience in functional testing, regression testing, and test case design and execution.
Experience developing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks for web applications.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, defect management, and quality assurance best practices.
Experience collaborating within Agile software development environments.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
These will help you stand out
Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
Hands-on experience with API testing and service validation.
Exposure to performance testing tools and methodologies.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Healthcare domain experience.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
