As a Sr. Java Full Stack Engineer, you will make an impact by designing and delivering scalable, high-performance applications that support modern digital platforms. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with product owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional Agile teams to build cloud-native solutions aligned with DevOps and AI-assisted development practices.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications using Java (Spring Boot / Microservices) and Angular or Node.js
- Build and integrate scalable RESTful APIs to support frontend and backend functionality
- Contribute to system architecture and implement reusable, scalable solutions
- Develop and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS, Azure, or OpenShift with Docker/Kubernetes
- Enable CI/CD pipelines and automation using GitHub Actions and modern DevOps practices
Work model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, Ontario. What you need to have to be considered
- 7–12 years of experience in full stack development
- Strong expertise in Java (Spring Boot / Microservices) and Angular or Node.js
- Proven experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or OpenShift
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
This will help you stand out
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Git version control
- Experience with testing frameworks and automation
- Familiarity with Splunk or Dynatrace
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot)
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $60,000 - $95,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
