About the role: Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
In this role, you will
● Provision, configure, and manage core AWS infrastructure — EC2, EBS, S3, VPCs, subnets, security groups, and Elastic Load Balancers.
● Support compute, storage, and networking operations, including availability and performance monitoring.
● Implement and manage IAM users, roles, and policies, and basic AWS Organizations / SCP configurations.
● Assist with provisioning through Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and reusable scripts.
● Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
● Perform routine operational tasks — patching, backups/snapshots, Auto Scaling adjustments, and resource tagging/cost hygiene.
● Troubleshoot infrastructure and connectivity issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
● Support account onboarding and landing zone activities under defined governance standards.
● Maintain documentation, runbooks, and configuration records.
● Collaborate with platform, networking, security, and application teams on deployment requests.
What you must have to be considered
● 2–4 years of hands-on experience administering AWS infrastructure.
● Working knowledge of AWS core services: EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, security groups, IAM, and KMS.
● Understanding of networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, DNS, subnets, routing, and firewalls.
● Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) and scripting (AWS CLI, Python/boto3, or PowerShell).
● Experience with AWS monitoring/logging (CloudWatch, CloudTrail).
● Awareness of cloud security, IAM, and tagging/governance best practices.
Good troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
These will help you succeed
● Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (AWS Code Pipeline, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins).
● Basic understanding of AWS Control Tower / Landing Zone and the Well-Architected Framework.
● Awareness of AWS service limits/quotas and cost-optimization practices.
● Certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS SysOps Administrator – Associate.
Work model:
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Pune/Hyderabad/Kolkata/Bangalore/Coimbatore.
