Job Summary

This hybrid Systems Engineer role focuses on designing implementing and supporting virtual desktop infrastructure solutions using Azure Virtual Desktop Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and Citrix Cloud for enterprise clients. The engineer will ensure secure high performing and reliable end user access to applications while working in rotational shifts within a global environment.


Responsibilities

  • Design implement and maintain virtual desktop infrastructure environments using Azure Virtual Desktop and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops to deliver stable and responsive user sessions across the enterprise.
  • Configure and optimize Citrix Cloud based solutions to ensure secure access efficient resource utilization and seamless integration with existing identity and network services.
  • Monitor VDI performance metrics and user experience indicators to proactively identify bottlenecks and apply tuning measures that improve system reliability and session quality.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests related to VDI platforms within rotational shifts performing detailed root cause analysis and documenting fixes for future reuse.
  • Collaborate with application owners and infrastructure teams to package test and deploy business applications within VDI images ensuring compatibility and minimal disruption for end users.
  • Maintain and update golden images host pools and machine catalogs for Azure Virtual Desktop and Citrix environments applying patches and upgrades that reinforce security and performance.
  • Implement access controls policies and profile management strategies within VDI platforms to safeguard data standardize user experience and support compliance requirements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for VDI architecture configuration standards and operational procedures that support consistent delivery by global support teams.
  • Participate in capacity planning and forecasting activities by analyzing usage trends and recommending scaling strategies that align infrastructure resources with business demand.
  • Support hybrid work scenarios by ensuring reliable remote connectivity to VDI resources coordinating with network and security teams to troubleshoot access issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating new VDI features and proposing enhancements that increase productivity and reduce operational overhead.
  • Coordinate with service management teams to align incident change and problem processes for VDI components ensuring adherence to organizational governance and audit expectations.
  • Provide clear guidance to business stakeholders on best practices for using virtual desktops and applications helping them adopt secure and efficient workflows that advance company objectives.

  • Qualifications

  • Demonstrate hands on experience deploying and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop environments including host pool configuration image management and user assignment in production settings.
  • Show strong practical knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops administration covering delivery group setup machine catalog maintenance and policy configuration for diverse user groups.
  • Apply working experience with Citrix Cloud services to integrate on premises and cloud resources manage connectors and operate cloud based management consoles in a secure manner.
  • Utilize solid understanding of Windows operating systems Active Directory and basic networking concepts to troubleshoot VDI sessions and coordinate with other infrastructure specialists.
  • Exhibit familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting tools commonly used in VDI ecosystems using them to interpret logs and alerts and to drive timely remediation activities.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills that enable collaboration with cross functional technical teams and clear status updates to stakeholders in a hybrid work environment.
  • Display willingness to work in rotational shifts while maintaining consistent service quality and responsiveness for global users who rely on mission critical VDI services.

  • Certifications Required

    Preferred certifications include Azure Virtual Desktop specialty or Citrix Certified Associate Virtualization or equivalent vendor VDI certification.
