Application Maintenance and Development


Responsibilities

1. UI5 Application Design & Development

Design and develop high-performance complex SAP Fiori Freestyle (MVC) and Fiori Elements applications using JavaScript/TypeScript XML views and JSON/OData models.

Create highly responsive interfaces across desktop tablet and mobile devices using advanced UI5 frameworks (sap.m sap.f).

Build custom reusable UI controls fragments formatting modules and flexible column layouts (FCL).

Implement frontend performance tuning including asynchronous programming (async/await promises) minification and preload library configurations to optimize model sizes and network requests.

2. Cloud Foundry (SAP BTP) Deployment & Integration

Develop configure and deploy applications inside the SAP BTP Cloud Foundry environment utilizing modern build tools like SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) and UI5 Tooling / CLI.

Set up cloud-native routing architectures using Approuter manage destination configurations and execute seamless connectivity to on-premise backend environments via the SAP Cloud Connector.

Integrate frontend layers smoothly with modern backend architectures like CAPM (Node.js) or RAP (ABAP on HANA) via OData V2/V4 services.

3. Identity & Centralized Launchpad Management

Configure central application spaces pages catalogs and semantic intent-based routing inside SAP Build Work Zone / SAP Fiori Launchpad.

Implement robust enterprise-grade security structures handling user authorization concepts via Cloud Foundry XSUAA and establishing identity provider trust with Identity Authentication Services (IAS).

4. Lifecycle Management & Best Practices

Lead code repositories using Git-based branching strategies (Gitflow) and support DevOps integration using CI/CD pipelines.

Implement extensible frontend hooks including UI adaptation controller extensions and custom plug-ins without disrupting core application frameworks.

  • Core Frontend: Deep technical mastery of SAPUI5 JavaScript (ES6+) HTML5 CSS3 and AJAX.
  • SAP BTP Capabilities: Proven hand-on experience managing application configurations on Cloud Foundry including Destinations Approuters and XSUAA bindings.
  • Data & Protocols: Advanced understanding of OData V2/V4 communication batch processing and JSON service consumption.
  • Development Environments: Expert proficiency with SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) npm and UI5 CLI tooling.
