Android Development Lead
We are seeking an experienced Android Development Lead to drive the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade mobile applications. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor development teams, define mobile architecture standards, and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure Android solutions.
Lead the design and development of Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
Define and enforce mobile architecture standards, coding guidelines, and best practices.
Drive adoption of modern Android technologies such as Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Coroutines, Flow, Hilt/Dagger, and modularization.
Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
Experience
8–12+ years of experience in Android application development with at least 2–3 years of technical leadership experience.
Team Management
Mentor and guide Android developers.
Perform technical assessments and interview evaluations.
Allocate work and track sprint deliverables.
Project Delivery
Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, UI/UX teams, QA, and backend teams.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups.
Ensure on-time delivery with high quality and minimal defect leakage.
Monitor project risks and drive mitigation plans.
Architecture & Development
Build scalable, maintainable, and secure mobile solutions.
Integrate REST APIs, GraphQL, Firebase, payment gateways, analytics, and third-party SDKs.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies.
Optimize application performance, security, and battery consumption.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $74K – $117K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
