We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional individual to work supporting one of our clients as an IBM Mainframe DB2 System Administrator
Key Responsibilities
· IBM Mainframe DB2 System Administrator - Programmer
· Design and architect robust DB2 database infrastructure that supports high volume Medicare and Medicaid claims processing and payer workflows in a hybrid work model
· Oversee DB2 system administration activities including installation configuration capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure reliable day shift operations
· Provide guidance on database security controls access management and compliance practices aligned to healthcare regulations and payer industry standards
· Drive optimization of DB2 data storage indexing and query performance to improve claims adjudication speed and accuracy for healthcare partners
· Coordinate with application teams to translate business requirements from claims and payer processes into scalable and resilient DB2 infrastructure designs
· Implement monitoring and alerting strategies for DB2 environments to proactively identify issues and minimize downtime impacting critical claims processing
· Collaborate with cross functional teams to plan and execute DB2 upgrades migrations and patching with minimal disruption to day time business services
· Evaluate and recommend tools automation approaches and standards that enhance DB2 operations reliability and efficiency within hybrid delivery models
· Document infrastructure designs operational procedures and system configurations to ensure consistency traceability and effective knowledge sharing across teams
· Assess capacity utilization and growth trends in DB2 environments to plan future infrastructure expansions that support evolving payer and claims workloads
· Support incident investigation and root cause analysis for database related issues ensuring corrective actions improve system resilience and service quality
· Engage with stakeholders to align DB2 infrastructure strategies with company goals enhancing healthcare data reliability and contributing to better outcomes for society
· Champion best practices in database administration backup restoration and disaster recovery to safeguard critical healthcare claims data and payer information
Qualifications:
· Bring extensive experience in DB2 system administration including installation patching performance tuning backup and recovery within large enterprise settings
· Demonstrate strong knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid claims lifecycles payer operations and healthcare transaction flows as applied to database architecture
· Apply practical expertise in capacity planning monitoring and troubleshooting of DB2 environments to maintain stable and high performing infrastructure
· Utilize understanding of healthcare data privacy and compliance expectations to design secure database solutions that protect sensitive member and provider information
· Leverage experience working in hybrid models and day shift operations to coordinate effectively with distributed teams and align with business service windows
· Show proven ability to collaborate with architects developers and operations personnel to convert complex claims requirements into implementable database solutions
· Exhibit familiarity with enterprise infrastructure concepts such as high availability clustering storage management and disaster recovery in relation to DB2 systems
· Display strong analytical and problem solving capabilities to diagnose performance bottlenecks and optimize configurations for mission critical payer platforms
