.NET Lead w/ AWS (Hybrid)
About the role
As a .NET Lead w/ AWS , you will make an impact by leading the design, development, and delivery of modern, scalable web applications that support critical business initiatives. You will be a valued member of the engineering organization and work collaboratively with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, QA teams, DevOps engineers, security teams, and software developers to build high-quality digital solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of modern web applications using React.js, C#, .NET Core, AWS services, REST APIs, and PostgreSQL.
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical leadership, guidance, and support to drive high-quality delivery and team growth.
- Establish and enforce software engineering standards, including GitHub branching strategies, pull request processes, code review practices, repository governance, and secure development methodologies.
- Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.
- Conduct architecture reviews and code reviews while ensuring adherence to engineering best practices, design principles, and quality standards.
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools, including GitHub Copilot and Claude, to enhance productivity, accelerate solution design, improve documentation, and support software development activities.
- Support CI/CD implementation, release planning, production troubleshooting, application performance optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring up to 3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Hartford ,CT. The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you’re engaged in, as well as business and client requirements. What you need to have to be considered
- Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using React.js, C#, .NET Core, AWS, PostgreSQL, and RESTful APIs.
- Proven leadership experience managing software engineering teams and delivering complex technology solutions in a lead capacity.
- Deep knowledge of React.js, JavaScript/ES6+, component-based architecture, state management, routing, reusable UI components, and responsive web development.
- Strong experience designing, integrating, and optimizing REST APIs, including authentication, authorization, versioning, error handling, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on expertise with GitHub source-control management, including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, repository governance, and secure coding practices.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, automated deployments, and release management processes.
- Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar platforms to improve software engineering productivity.
- Excellent troubleshooting, performance tuning, stakeholder management, communication, and technical leadership skills.
These will help you stand out
- Experience leading large engineering teams of 20+ developers across distributed environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns and AWS best practices.
- Experience driving engineering transformation initiatives and adoption of modern software development practices.
- Knowledge of application security, secure SDLC methodologies, and enterprise governance frameworks.
- Experience implementing developer productivity and automation strategies using Generative AI technologies.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $ 81,337 to $163,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
