Workday Financials Test Lead

About the role

As a Workday Financials Test Lead, you will make an impact by leading end-to-end quality assurance and testing activities for Workday Financials implementations, tenant upgrades, feature releases, and enhancements. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with Workday functional consultants, business subject matter experts, integration teams, and Workday HCM and Payroll teams to support high-quality, audit-ready releases.

In this role, you will

Lead end-to-end test planning, strategy, estimation, and execution for Workday Financials implementations, tenant upgrades, enhancements, and biannual feature releases.

Design, review, and manage test scenarios and test cases across Workday Financials modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Banking, Procurement, Supplier Accounts, Customer Accounts, Projects, and Financial Reporting.

Establish and manage the test governance model, including entry and exit criteria, requirements traceability, RAID logs, defect triage, test metrics, and go-live readiness.

Coordinate System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, regression, integration, and performance testing while ensuring appropriate test coverage across business and technical requirements.

Validate Workday Financials integrations with banking interfaces, tax engines, procurement platforms, payroll systems, and reporting tools using EIBs, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, and Workday Web Services.

Lead and mentor test analysts by assigning responsibilities, reviewing test artifacts, monitoring execution, and maintaining quality standards.

Prepare test status reports, dashboards, quality metrics, and risk updates for project leadership and steering committees.

Support compliance testing for SOX, internal controls, and audit requirements, and contribute to automation initiatives using Tricentis Tosca, Selenium, or similar tools.

What you need to have to be considered

10+ years of extensive experience leading testing activities for Workday Financials implementations, upgrades, enhancements, or feature releases.

Strong functional testing experience across Workday Financials modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Banking, Procurement, Supplier Accounts, Customer Accounts, Projects, and Financial Reporting.

Experience developing test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, traceability matrices, entry and exit criteria, and go-live readiness assessments.

Demonstrated experience managing System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, regression, integration, and defect management cycles.

Experience validating Workday integrations using EIBs, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, Workday Web Services, or related integration technologies.

Proficiency with test management and defect-tracking tools such as Jira, Zephyr, qTest, HP ALM, or Quality Center.

Experience leading test teams, reviewing test deliverables, coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders, and providing test status reporting to leadership.

Experience with test automation tools such as Tricentis Tosca, Selenium, or comparable automation solutions.

These will help you stand out

Experience testing cross-functional dependencies between Workday Financials, HCM, Payroll, Procurement, and external platforms.

Experience supporting Workday biannual feature release testing and tenant configuration validation.

Knowledge of SOX compliance, financial controls, internal audit requirements, and evidence-based testing.

Experience creating executive-level dashboards, quality metrics, defect trends, and testing risk reports.

Experience implementing or expanding automated regression testing for Workday Financials processes.
