Cybersecurity Project Manager
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Project Manager to lead the planning and delivery of strategic cybersecurity initiatives across the organization. The role requires strong project management expertise, stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to bridge technical security teams with executive leadership. The successful candidate will drive projects across areas such as cloud security, IAM, network security, vulnerability management, and compliance while ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk management priorities.
In This Role, You Will:
· Lead end-to-end delivery of cybersecurity projects, including IAM, network security, cloud security, vulnerability remediation, security audits, and SOC/SIEM implementations, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
· Manage project planning, scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and milestones while tracking KPIs and ensuring successful project execution.
· Serve as the primary liaison between technical security teams and executive stakeholders, translating cybersecurity risks and project outcomes into clear business insights.
· Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and roadblocks, leveraging strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and vulnerability management practices.
· Oversee security-related vendor engagements, contracts, procurement activities, and budget management for cybersecurity tools and services.
· Prepare and present executive dashboards, status reports, and steering committee updates, while ensuring effective stakeholder communication and governance throughout the project lifecycle.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Dallas, TX. What You Need to Have to Be Considered
· 10+ years of project management experience managing cybersecurity, IT risk, or compliance projects.
· Excellent stakeholder management skills — able to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive leadership.
· Experience managing projects involving network security, identity & access management (IAM), endpoint security, cloud security (AWS/Azure), Data Security or SIEM/SOC operations.
· Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of cybersecurity projects (e.g., security audits, incident response programs, identity and access management rollouts, network segmentation, vulnerability remediation, SOC implementation).
· Develop project charters, scope documents, timelines, budgets, and resource plans; track progress against milestones and KPIs.
· Serve as the primary point of contact between technical security teams and executive stakeholders, translating technical risk into business language.
· Experience managing incident response or breach notification processes in a regulated environment.
· Monitor project budgets, contracts, and procurement related to security tooling and services.
· Prepare status reports, executive dashboards, and steering committee presentations.
· Identify and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and roadblocks proactively.
· Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and vulnerability management lifecycles.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $84,000 - $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
