About the role
As a Senior eCommerce Quality Engineering Automation Engineer, you will make an impact by helping deliver reliable, high-quality enterprise applications through effective manual testing and scalable test automation.
You will collaborate with development, product, business, and quality engineering teams to build comprehensive test coverage across web applications, APIs, integrations, and end-to-end business workflows.
In this role, you will:
Lead functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing for enterprise applications.
Design, develop, and maintain web UI automation solutions using Selenium WebDriver with Java.
Develop and maintain behavior-driven development scenarios and automation using Cucumber/BDD.
Design and execute REST API tests and automated test suites using REST Assured with Java.
Translate business and technical requirements into comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, test data, and automation coverage.
Perform manual and automated testing, document defects, and drive issues through validation and closure.
Contribute to test planning, estimation, execution, defect triage, and quality-status reporting.
Partner with development, product, business, and QA teams to promote quality throughout the release lifecycle.

What you need to have to be considered
10+ years of strong hands-on experience with manual testing, functional testing, and test automation.
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining web UI automation using Selenium WebDriver with Java.
Hands-on experience developing feature files and automated scenarios using Cucumber/BDD.
Strong experience with REST API testing and API automation using REST Assured with Java.
Experience developing, enhancing, and maintaining test automation frameworks.
Proficiency with TestNG or JUnit, Maven, and Git.
Experience executing functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Working knowledge of Jenkins or comparable continuous integration and continuous delivery tools, along with SQL and database validation.
Strong analytical, debugging, defect-analysis, and problem-solving skills.
These will help you stand out
Experience supporting quality engineering initiatives within the retail or eCommerce domain.
Experience integrating automated test suites into Jenkins or another CI/CD pipeline.
Experience validating complex data flows across user interfaces, APIs, databases, and integrated systems.
Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders in an enterprise delivery environment.
Experience identifying opportunities to expand automation coverage and improve testing efficiency.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
