About the role
As a Life Sciences Client Relationship Manager, you will make an impact by growing and leading Cognizant's commercial relationships with Life Sciences clients across the United States, owning the day-to-day activities and P&L of assigned accounts and driving rapid business expansion while ensuring a positive client experience. You will be a valued member of the Life Sciences commercial team and work collaboratively with the Client Partner, delivery teams, Service Lines, and Solutions teams, and clients.
In this role, you will
- Drive strategic pursuits across small, medium, and large deals, working cross-functionally within Cognizant to sell what we can deliver in line with the customer's objectives, including shaping the pitch, defining scope and team, and supporting pricing and contractual arrangements.
- Spearhead internal teams across Service Lines, Solutions, and Delivery to develop and lead strategy and drive strategic initiatives.
- Lead top-tier communications with clients and within Cognizant up to the CxO level, demonstrating effective leadership communication.
- Oversee end-to-end service delivery and ensure all contractual commitments are met, working with the customer to amend and approve changes as necessary.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the adjacent teams engaged in service delivery to drive an exceptional client experience, advised by deep industry expertise.
Work model
At Cognizant, we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in the Western United States, Dallas, TX; Chicago, IL; Pennsylvania; or Boston, MA, for candidates who live within range of a Cognizant or client office. What you must have to be considered
- Minimum 15 years of experience in a client-facing role in a consulting firm or in an account/engagement management role in the IT professional services offshore/outsourcing industry.
- Experience across Sales & Marketing, R&D, or Medical Devices/Med Tech, and corporate functions within Life Sciences.
- Proven consultative selling capability, including large deal management, effective negotiations, and influencing solution design.
- Strong revenue growth track record with exceptional client handling, presentation skills, and deep knowledge of financial modelling.
- Willingness to travel as business requires, up to 25% of the time.

- Strategic thinking with effective problem-solving skills and a strong customer focus.
- Excellent collaboration and relationship building, including CxO relationship management.
- An MS or MBA degree.

Salary and Other Compensation
- The annual salary for this position is between $150,000 - $170,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
- This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
