Job Summary
Serve as a senior engineer in execution systems with a strong focus on Ignition based industrial applications designing and implementing robust solutions that optimize manufacturing operations and supply chain visibility while working in a hybrid day shift model and collaborating with global stakeholders to drive measurable improvements in efficiency quality and sustainability across enterprise production environments.
Responsibilities
- Design robust execution system solutions using Ignition to support reliable data acquisition visualization and control across complex manufacturing environments while ensuring maintainability and scalability for future growth and integration needs.
- Develop high quality Ignition based applications that collect real time production data from diverse shop floor assets and transform it into actionable insights that improve throughput reduce downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Configure integration between Ignition projects and upstream planning or downstream reporting systems to provide end to end traceability and accurate information flows that support informed operational and supply chain decisions.
- Collaborate closely with operations teams and subject matter experts to analyze manufacturing workflows identify process bottlenecks and translate business requirements into clear technical specifications for Ignition solutions.
- Implement standardized templates reusable components and configuration practices within Ignition that promote consistency reduce engineering effort and accelerate deployment across multiple plants and product lines.
- Optimize Ignition project performance by refining gateway configuration scripting logic and database interactions to ensure fast response times stable runtime behavior and secure access for users at different responsibility levels.
- Create comprehensive documentation for Ignition architectures configuration standards operating procedures and troubleshooting guides to support reliable system operations and effective knowledge transfer across engineering and operations teams.
- Provide hands on support during system deployment cutover and hypercare periods by monitoring key indicators resolving incidents and fine tuning Ignition configurations to ensure stable production execution.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to implement secure network connections access controls and backup strategies for Ignition gateways and related components that protect critical operational data and system availability.
- Drive incremental enhancements to execution systems by analyzing production metrics feedback from end users and new digital initiatives then implementing targeted Ignition changes that deliver measurable value to manufacturing performance.
- Collaborate with data and analytics teams to expose clean standardized operational data from Ignition for reporting dashboards and predictive models that strengthen enterprise decision making and supply chain resilience.
- Support hybrid working practices by using remote access tools collaboration platforms and structured communication routines to deliver timely engineering outcomes while aligning with distributed teams across time zones.
- Ensure that all Ignition deliverables and configuration changes comply with internal quality standards regulatory expectations and validation requirements relevant to the manufacturing domain.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate strong hands on expertise in designing configuring and maintaining Ignition based industrial applications including experience with tags scripting visualization components and gateway administration.
- Apply solid knowledge of execution systems such as manufacturing execution use cases work order tracking machine monitoring and production data collection in order to design solutions that fit real shop floor needs.
- Leverage practical exposure to manufacturing processes and supply chain operations to interpret requirements accurately and propose Ignition implementations that enhance flow reliability and material traceability.
- Utilize experience of eight to twelve years in industrial automation or execution systems engineering to handle complex cross functional projects with minimal supervision while maintaining high technical quality.
- Employ strong skills in relational databases query design and data modelling to ensure that Ignition solutions store and retrieve operational data in a consistent reliable and performant manner.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders from technical and nontechnical backgrounds by explaining Ignition capabilities constraints and design options in terms that support sound business and engineering decisions.
- Adopt disciplined practices for version control testing documentation and incident management so that Ignition changes can be deployed safely during day shift operations without unplanned production impact.
