Role Overview

The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business needs, gathering and clarifying requirements, preparing functional documentation, supporting delivery teams, and ensuring that solutions are clearly defined, validated, and aligned with business objectives.

This role requires someone proactive, structured, and comfortable working across different business and technology domains. The successful candidate will work closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, Project Managers, Software Developers, QA Engineers, Architects, business stakeholders, and external partners.

The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, manage ambiguity, ask the right questions, identify gaps, and ensure delivery teams have the clarity required to build and validate solutions effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.

  • Work with stakeholders to understand business objectives, problems, opportunities, and expected outcomes.

  • Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, and functional specifications.

  • Document current-state and future-state processes where required.

  • Identify gaps, assumptions, risks, dependencies, and edge cases.

  • Challenge unclear or incomplete requirements and drive clarification with the relevant stakeholders.

  • Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery activities by ensuring requirements are ready for development.

  • Work closely with developers, QA engineers, architects, and product teams to clarify requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle.

  • Support testing and validation by defining test scenarios, expected outcomes, and acceptance criteria.

  • Assist with UAT preparation, business validation, and production issue analysis where required.

  • Facilitate requirement workshops, clarification sessions, and stakeholder discussions.

  • Track open questions, actions, decisions, risks, and dependencies until closure.

  • Maintain clear and structured documentation using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.

Required Skills and Experience

Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role.

  • Strong experience in requirements gathering, functional analysis, and business process documentation.

  • Ability to write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and business rules.

  • Good understanding of SAFe/Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.

  • Experience working with Product Owners, Product Managers, Developers, QA Engineers, Architects, and business stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision.

  • Strong documentation and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to manage ambiguity and turn unclear business needs into structured, actionable requirements.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience in airline, aviation, digital products, e-commerce, operations, or enterprise IT environments.

  • Understanding of APIs, system integrations, data flows, and digital platforms.

  • Knowledge of UML, BPMN, process flows, sequence diagrams, or data mapping.

  • Experience supporting UAT, functional testing, and production incident analysis.

  • Experience working in large, complex organizations with multiple stakeholders.

  • Agile certification, Scrum Master experience, or product-related certification is a plus.
