Job Summary
As a Network L3 Engineer, you will perform advanced troubleshooting to ensure high performance, availability, and security of complex network infrastructures. You will lead major upgrades, develop strategic network plans, analyze traffic and security threats, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. This role is part of a high-impact project environment and requires deep networking expertise across multi-vendor platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Expert-Level Troubleshooting: Handle complex and critical network issues that require deep expertise, often performing root cause analysis to prevent recurring incidents.
• Strategic Planning: Develop long-term strategies for network growth and optimization, aligning network capabilities with business goals.
• Security Management: Design and implement advanced security measures, develop security policies, and monitor network traffic to identify and mitigate threats.
• Project Leadership: Lead major network projects such as upgrades, migrations, and the integration of new technologies.
• Documentation & Best Practices: Create and maintain detailed documentation for network configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Mentorship & Training: Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to L1 and L2 network engineers.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with external partners and vendors for solutions, and collaborate with other IT professionals and management.
Key Skills & Knowledge
• Deep Understanding of Protocols: In-depth knowledge of network protocols, switching, routing, and wide-area network (WAN) technologies.
• Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with multi-vendor network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex network challenges under pressure.
• Security Focus: Experience with security tools and frameworks, including intrusion detection systems (IDS) and network access control (NAC).
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear reporting and collaboration.
Job Requirements
• Essential Skills: Zscaler (Proxy), Palo Alto Firewall
• Nice to Have Skills: SD WAN – Velo Cloud, Cisco Meraki.
• Strong experience in troubleshooting and securing networks.
• Advanced certifications such as the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) are recommended.
