Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced S3 Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Country Technical Lead to lead the technical delivery of S3 initiatives for a designated country. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and validating Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), driving technical solution design, leading delivery teams, and ensuring successful implementation of business requirements within the S3 platform.
The role requires strong S3 expertise, insurance domain knowledge, stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams across the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Country Technical Leadership
- Serve as the primary S3 technical lead for a country implementation or enhancement stream.
- Own technical delivery outcomes for the country portfolio.
- Collaborate with business, product, architecture, and delivery teams to define and implement solutions.
- Drive technical decision-making and provide solution recommendations aligned with platform standards.
- Identify and manage technical risks, dependencies, and issues.
Functional Specification Review
- Review and validate Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) for completeness, feasibility, and alignment with business requirements.
- Ensure proposed solutions are consistent with S3 platform capabilities and architectural standards.
- Challenge requirements where necessary and recommend optimal approaches.
- Support effort estimation, release planning, and technical sizing activities.
- Ensure requirements are clearly understood by development and testing teams.
Delivery & Team Leadership
- Lead a team of developers, analysts, and QA resources across onshore and offshore locations.
- Allocate and manage work assignments across the delivery team.
- Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and technical walkthroughs.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and technical leadership to team members.
- Track delivery progress and ensure commitments are met within agreed timelines.
Solution Design & Implementation
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical solutions.
- Support integration design, data migration, and configuration activities.
- Work closely with architecture teams to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Ensure adherence to development standards, governance processes, and quality controls.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with country business teams, product owners, and programme leadership.
- Provide regular updates on progress, risks, dependencies, and technical decisions.
- Participate in governance forums and delivery reviews.
- Foster strong relationships with client and internal stakeholders.
Quality & Governance
- Drive high-quality delivery with a focus on reducing defects and technical debt.
- Support SIT, UAT, deployment, and hypercare phases.
- Ensure solutions comply with regulatory, security, and enterprise standards.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues.
Required Experience
Mandatory
- Extensive years of experience in Insurance Technology delivery.
- Strong years of hands-on experience with the S3 platform.
- Strong experience reviewing and validating Functional Specification Documents (FSDs).
- Proven experience leading technical teams in a delivery environment.
- Experience across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong understanding of General Insurance business processes.
- Experience with system integrations, interfaces, and data migration initiatives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
- Experience in multi-country insurance transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of underwriting, policy administration, and claims processes.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Familiarity with API and integration architectures.
- Experience supporting large-scale insurance platform implementations.
