Senior Full Stack Engineer (React.js / Node.js)

About the Role

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and delivering modern, scalable, and high-performing web applications using React.js, TypeScript, and Node.js. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with Product Owners, UX designers, QA teams, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative digital solutions.

In This Role, You Will:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade full-stack web applications using React.js, TypeScript, and Node.js.

• Build responsive, reusable, and scalable user interface components that deliver exceptional user experiences.

• Develop, maintain, and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support application and business requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design technical solutions, and deliver high-quality software in Agile environments.

• Perform code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, optimize application performance, and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week in a Cognizant or client office in Halifax, Nova Scotia. What You Need to Have to Be Considered

• 7+ years of experience developing modern web applications using React.js, TypeScript, and Node.js.

• Strong expertise in React.js, including component-based architecture, state management, and front-end performance optimization.

• Hands-on experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and GraphQL services.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and Object-Oriented JavaScript principles.

• Experience working with Git version control and modern software development practices.

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

These Will Help You Stand Out

• Experience with GraphQL and Apollo Client.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.

• Knowledge of Microservices architecture and distributed systems.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Familiarity with Redux, Context API, or other modern state management frameworks.

• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position depends on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
