About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Deskside Support Engineer to provide onsite technical support with a strong focus on audiovisual (AV), videoconferencing (VTC), collaboration technologies, and end-user computing support. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless operation of conference rooms, meeting technologies, presentation systems, and end-user devices while delivering exceptional customer service to executives, business users, and technical teams.
This role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience supporting AV equipment, conferencing solutions, desktops, laptops, and collaboration technologies in a fast-paced corporate environment.
In this role, you will
Provide onsite deskside support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, mobile devices, and collaboration technologies, ensuring timely resolution of end-user issues.
Set up, configure, operate, troubleshoot, and support audiovisual (AV) and videoconferencing (VTC) equipment, including projectors, displays, microphones, cameras, control systems, and integrated conference room technologies.
Deliver end-to-end videoconference support, including meeting setup, testing, monitoring, user assistance, troubleshooting, and escalation management.
Support conference room technology environments by maintaining room readiness, ensuring equipment functionality, and providing real-time meeting support.
Assist users with presentation technologies, including PowerPoint setup, screen sharing, wireless connectivity, and multimedia integrations for meetings and events.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections of AV and IT equipment, addressing cable management, safety concerns, and equipment performance issues.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, audio, video, and conferencing issues, coordinating with internal IT teams and vendors when advanced support is required.
Maintain accurate asset inventories, support documentation, service tickets, customer issue logs, and equipment lifecycle records.
Generate operational reports on room utilization, support activities, maintenance status, open issues, and upcoming preventive maintenance schedules.
Provide exceptional customer service and end-user training on collaboration, presentation, and conferencing technologies while staying current with emerging workplace technology solutions.
What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience providing deskside support, AV support, or conference room technology support.
Experience supporting videoconferencing and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex, or similar technologies.
Strong knowledge of:
AV systems and integrations
Video conferencing technologies
Audio systems and microphones
Projectors and display systems
Conference room control systems
Windows operating systems
Desktop and laptop hardware support
Experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, network, audio, and video issues.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple support requests in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working with ticketing and asset management systems.
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting executive conference rooms and high-visibility meetings.
Knowledge of AV control platforms and room automation technologies.
Experience with enterprise collaboration environments.
Familiarity with ITIL-based support processes.
Exposure to networking fundamentals including wireless connectivity troubleshooting.
Relevant certifications such as:
CompTIA A+
Microsoft Fundamentals Certifications
CTS (Certified Technology Specialist)
ITIL Foundation
