Position Summary:
Cognizant is looking for a Lead Mainframe Database Administrator (IMS/DB2) with 10+ years' experience in both IMS DBA and IMS system programming in IMS v14, 15 on z/OS. Candidate should possess strong knowledge on IMS v15 Database Administration. Requires 7x24 support experience in a large production environment. Excellent Verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal Skills. The candidate should have worked in a SLA driven environment. Ability to work in a flexible, team-oriented and constantly changing environment.
Mandatory Skills:
- IMS, DB2 DBA on zOS
- Experience in IMS on z/OS administration
- IMS database design and database alteration and Migration
- Experience in creation of DBDs, PSBs, ACBs
- Experience in Managed ACBs
- DASD/Tape management
- Knowledge on IMS upgradation / Migration
- Capacity Planning
- Experience in DB2 v11, v12, v13 on z/OS administration
- Strong Knowledge on ER Diagram
- DB2 database design and database alteration and Migration
- Experience in Performance Tuning
- Strong Knowledge on IMS Utilities
- Experience in database initialization, forward recovery & building secondary index and pointer checker, checkpoint restart, Fast path (DEDB) etc.
- Strong Knowledge of Troubleshooting skills on IMS administration
- Proactive monitoring in space usage and troubleshooting space management
- IMS application users management
- IMS Batch job monitoring and troubleshooting
- Security Management
- Exposure in Disaster Recovery
- 24*7 support experience in a large production environment
- Space Management
- Experience in IMS Tools (BMC, IBM HP Load, TMON IMS, Fileaid for IMS,..)
- Basic Knowledge on IMS System programming
- Should have worked in a SLA driven environment
- Knowledge on IMS database decommissioning
