About the role
We are seeking a skilled AS400 RPG & Synon Developer to support end‑to‑end technical delivery across analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment activities. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Business Analysts and Technical Leads to clarify requirements, ensure high‑quality technical solutions, and support successful project implementation through warranty.
In this role, you will:
· Collaborate with Business Analysts and CVS Technical Leads to clarify requirements
· Prepare, review, and approve project estimations
· Conduct detailed analysis to support solution design
· Prepare, review, and approve technical design documents
· Review and approve coding deliverables
· Prepare unit test plans and perform unit testing, including bug fixing
· Promote projects to QA and support regression testing
· Review deployment plans and support QA activities
· Support regression cycles and oversee deployment activities
· Provide post‑implementation support during the warranty period
Work model:

Based on this role’s business requirements, this position follows a hybrid model, requiring in‑person presence several days a week in a client or Cognizant office located in Richardson, TX. What you need to have to be considered
· Strong hands‑on experience with AS400
· Proficiency in CLLE, RPGLE, RPGILE
· Experience with SYNON
· Strong SQL skills
· Familiarity with Aldon and X‑Analysis
· Ability to review, approve, and guide technical deliverables across the SDLC
This will help you stand out
· Experience supporting end‑to‑end project delivery, including QA, regression, deployment, and warranty
· Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
· Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams
· Experience working in hybrid or remote delivery environments
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $65,447 to $117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
