About the role

The Lead Java Developer role is crucial for designing and implementing robust software solutions using Springboot Microservices and Java. With a hybrid work model, the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance application performance and scalability. This position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience focusing on delivering high-quality code and contributing to the company’s technological advancements.

In this role, you will:

· Design, develop, and optimize Spring Boot microservices using Java, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.

· Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.

· Lead microservices integration and system performance tuning, ensuring seamless communication, efficient resource usage, and minimal downtime.

· Ensure code quality and maintainability through best practices in testing, deployment, code reviews, and technical documentation.

· Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership, fostering continuous learning and improved team productivity.

· Drive innovation and operational excellence by resolving complex issues, recommending new technologies, and coordinating with DevOps for smooth deployments and compliance with security standards.

Work model: Hybrid

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Sunnyvale – CA. What you need to have to be considered

· Possess extensive experience in Springboot Microservices and Java demonstrating a strong understanding of software architecture principles.

· Have a proven track record in Commerce Full Stack Engineering showcasing expertise in designing and implementing scalable solutions.

· Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues efficiently.

· Demonstrate excellent communication skills enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

· Show proficiency in mentoring and guiding junior developers by fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment.

· Display a keen interest in staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation.

· Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering or a related field with relevant certifications being a plus.

The annual salary range for this position is between $112.500 – $130.000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
