About the Role

As a Senior Manager – Media Strategy within the Media Center of Excellence (COE), you will lead the development and execution of integrated media strategies that align with Cognizant’s marketing objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in media channels, audience targeting, and performance measurement. You will serve as a trusted advisor to Field Marketing teams across regions, guiding them to ensure activities and outcomes are closely aligned with business goals.

You will collaborate across COE functions—including Partner Marketing, Measurement & Analytics, and Case Studies—while mentoring a team of media strategists and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Location: Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad & Pune.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement integrated media strategies across campaign types, including full-funnel, ABM, and lead generation.
  • Lead media strategy planning, including audience analysis, forecasting, re-targeting, and budget allocation.
  • Oversee execution of media plans across digital channels such as social, connected TV, and digital out-of-home.
  • Collaborate with Brand & Creative, MarTech, and Analytics teams to ensure cohesive campaign execution.
  • Utilize data and insights to optimize media performance and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Define and track key metrics and KPIs for campaign success.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate media buys, and ensure best value outcomes.
  • Mentor and develop media strategists, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in media strategy.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered

  • 12+ years of experience in B2B media planning and strategy across core channels and platforms.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing media strategies that drive business outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data to inform decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities.
  • Hands-on proficiency in media planning tools and software.
  • Experience working with procurement teams and managing vendor relationships.
  • Media agency experience preferred.

Work Model

This role is based in Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune. We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 3 days a week in a Cognizant office.
