About the role
As a Solution Engineer, you will make an impact by engineering full‑stack, AI‑driven web applications on an enterprise AI platform. You will work directly with customers to design, develop, and deploy production applications, demos, and proofs of technology. You will be a valued member of a cross‑functional team and collaborate closely with customers, product management, and engineering teams.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and deploy full‑stack, AI‑based enterprise applications
- Work directly with customers to design, build, test, and deploy solutions
- Mentor junior team members on coding standards and design best practices
- Conduct design and development reviews of customer applications
- Test, troubleshoot, and enhance software applications with and on behalf of customers
- Deliver technical deep dives, demonstrations, and customer training sessions
- Write application specifications and technical documentation
- Identify technical risks and gaps and propose mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to improve overall software quality
- Follow Agile software development practices
Work model:
Onsite
This is an onsite position, requiring employees to work five days per week from the Cognizant office in Redwood City, California. This work arrangement supports close collaboration with customers and cross‑functional teams and is aligned to current business and client needs.

What you need to have to be considered
- Experience developing and deploying enterprise‑scale software applications
- Strong software development experience with Python and JavaScript
- Experience working in a customer‑facing role
- Hands‑on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience deploying applications on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Proficiency in data structures and algorithm design
- Experience with Git or other version control systems
- Working knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
- Solid understanding of common machine learning techniques, applications, and trade‑offs
These will help you stand out
- Experience with AWS, Kafka, MySQL, and cloud‑based architectures
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Redux, Vue, or Angular
- Proficiency in time‑series data analysis, cleansing, and normalization
- Experience with TensorFlow or other ML frameworks
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- A graduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or a related field
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $80,000 - $94,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
