About the role
As a Senior SDET – Java & Playwright Automation | Financial Services, you will make an impact by designing and driving scalable, high‑quality test automation solutions that ensure reliable and secure digital products within the Retirement Insurance domain. You will be a valued member of the quality engineering team and work collaboratively with product owners, developers, and DevOps teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.
In this role, you will:
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reusable, and robust automation frameworks for web and backend systems
• Define and own the automation testing strategy and roadmap aligned with product quality and delivery goals
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable fast and continuous feedback
• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure code testability and participate in automation code reviews
• Lead defect management, reporting, and test coverage optimization while mentoring junior team members

What you need to have to be considered
• Strong experience as an SDET with Java, including minor code and defect fixes
• Hands‑on expertise with Playwright using JavaScript or TypeScript
• Experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks
• Knowledge of CI/CD integration using tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
• Domain expertise in Retirement Insurance systems
• Effective communication and cross‑team collaboration skills
These will help you stand out
• Experience using Selenium for test automation
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot to improve development productivity
• Proven mentoring or technical leadership experience within QA or SDET teams
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $71,100 - $112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
