Technical Consultant – ServiceNow (Dutch speaking)

As a Technical Consultant, you focus on the technical and logistical deployment of cloud-based solutions that meet client’s business needs, primarily developing ServiceNow modules and/or Web Services to exchange data between ServiceNow and other technology systems using programming best practices. You will be responsible for requirement scoping, tool configuration, solution development and achieving technical milestones throughout the lifecycle. You can identify risks and reports them in a timely manner, has good communication with the project team, and could work without constant direction or supervision.


Responsibilities
• Perform core configuration and customization tasks on the ServiceNow platform, including building and modifying Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, and Access Control Lists (ACLs)
• Design and develop custom applications, forms, lists, reports, and dashboards to meet client-specific business requirements
• Create, configure, and optimize workflows, Flow Designer flows, and custom workflow activities, particularly for Service Catalog requests and various ITIL processes
• Develop and maintain the Service Portal using HTML, CSS, AngularJS, and other web technologies to provide a modern, engaging user experience
• Implement and support integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using various methods, including REST/SOAP web services, Integration Hub, and JDBC
• Manage data within the platform using Import Sets, Transform Maps, and data migration strategies, ensuring the integrity of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and compliance with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM)
• Work closely with Functional Consultants and Business Analysts to understand process requirements and translate them into efficient, high-quality technical designs and configurations
• Conduct unit testing, support quality assurance (QA) and user acceptance testing (UAT), and manage code migration across instances using Update Sets or the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline
• Adhere to ServiceNow and industry best practices to minimize technical debt, promote code reusability, and ensure the platform remains stable and ready for future upgrades
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, development logs, and post-implementation guides
• Communicates technical problems and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Provide 2nd/3rd level ServiceNow support, resolve incidents/enhancements/defects writing, debugging and testing using a mix of JavaScript and server-side Java


Requirements
• Graduated software engineer, electronic engineer, technician, technologist or related education certificate
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in hands-on ServiceNow development, configuration, and implementation across multiple modules.
• Active ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) credential is mandatory.
• Strong scripting knowledge in JavaScript (including Glide Script), HTML, CSS, and general web technologies.
• Demonstrated implementation experience in at least one major ServiceNow suite (e.g., ITSM, CSM, HAM/SAM, ITOM).
• Experience with CMDB, CSDM, and managing data through import sets and transform maps.
• Fluent English and Dutch, and nice to have any other European language

Nice to have
• Certified Application Developer (CAD) or one or more Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications (e.g., CIS-ITSM)
• Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and ITIL best practices
• Experience with Integration Hub and integrating ServiceNow with common enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Azure, Active Directory, Teams, CoPilot, Snowflake, Power BI)
• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies for platform development and release management
