Senior Cloud Engineer – AWS (Azure a Plus)
About the role
As a Senior Cloud Engineer – AWS, you will make an impact by designing, building, and managing secure, scalable hybrid cloud infrastructure for enterprise environments. You will be a valued member of a global delivery team, working collaboratively with cloud architects, DevOps engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-availability, compliant, and automated cloud solutions across AWS and Azure platforms.
In this role, you will:
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure mainly on AWS, with exposure to Microsoft Azure, ensuring high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR)
- Implement cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, network security, and compliance requirements
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible
- Manage and maintain containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS)
- Monitor cloud platforms, troubleshoot issues, and continuously optimize performance and cost efficiency
Work model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position in Brazil, requiring a combination of remote work and time in a Cognizant office.
What you need to have to be considered
- 5–10 years of experience managing and supporting cloud infrastructure in enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (compute, networking, storage, security)
- Experience with Microsoft Azure (considered a strong advantage)
- Solid understanding of cloud security frameworks, including IAM/RBAC, network security, and compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation, using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, ARM templates, Python, PowerShell, or Bash
- Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Intermediate English proficiency
These will help you stand out
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS or AKS) in production environments
- Experience with cloud storage services such as AWS S3/Glacier and Azure Blob Storage
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring and observability tools (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or similar)
- Relevant cloud or infrastructure certifications (AWS, Azure, MCSE, MCSA, NetApp)
- Experience supporting regulated or compliance-driven environments
