Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Oracle and Informix Database Professional to manage, maintain, and support enterprise database environments. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance optimization, data security, and reliable backup and recovery for mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration & Support

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle (10g/11g/12c/19c) and IBM Informix databases.
  • Perform database provisioning, cloning, and environment refreshes (DEV, TEST, UAT, PROD).
  • Monitor database health, capacity, and availability.
  • Handle database incidents, service requests, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.

Performance & Tuning

  • Analyze and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database structures.
  • Perform performance tuning using tools such as:
    • Oracle AWR, ADDM, OEM
    • Informix onstat utilities
  • Identify and resolve locking, blocking, and bottleneck issues.

Backup, Recovery & DR

  • Design and maintain backup and recovery strategies:
    • Oracle RMAN
    • Informix ontape / onbar
  • Perform regular restore tests and disaster recovery drills.
  • Support high availability and DR solutions (Data Guard, replication, Informix HDR/RSS).

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Oracle Database Administration
    • IBM Informix Database Administration
  • Good knowledge of:
    • SQL, PL/SQL
    • Unix/Linux operating systems
    • Backup & recovery strategies
  • Experience with database upgrades and migrations.
  • Understanding of networking basics and storage concepts.
