Role Description

Junior Mapping Data Technician is responsible for performing mapping operations, data analysis, and data maintenance tasks to ensure the accuracy and quality of our geographic datasets. This role requires an understanding of geospatial concepts and tools, the ability to perform precise data edits, conduct comprehensive data analysis, and resolve complex data discrepancies.

Core Responsibilities

● Use mapping tools and knowledge to continually improve map accuracy and edits.

● Perform precise data edits, maintenance tasks, and analysis of basic and complex geospatial issues based on established policies and workflows.

● Investigate, confirm, and resolve reported data problems across various map features (e.g., points of interest, transportation infrastructure).

● Handle complex, time-sensitive data modeling and quality questions, contributing to in-depth failure analysis.

● Perform comparative analysis of data from multiple sources to determine the most accurate and up-to-date information for integration.

● Review and verify the accuracy of specific map attributes, such as pricing or operational status, against official/verified sources.

● Execute specific curation workflows, including the creation, modification, or removal of key map features and their associated data attributes.

● Investigate and correct issues reported by users or partners.


Requirements

● Knowledge of the English language on at least a B2 level.

● Foundational understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and mapping concepts.

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high focus on detail and data accuracy.

● Proven record of using spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel/GSheets), including functions and formulas, for data manipulation and analysis.

● Ability to complete precise map edits, perform data maintenance tasks, and conduct initial analysis of data discrepancies.

● A positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward internal and external partners at all times.

● Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively and accurately under deadlines and pressure.

● Nice to Have: Experience in training, mentoring, or delivering technical presentations.
