The Technical Product Owner (TPO) plays a central role in defining product strategy, shaping the roadmap, and ensuring predictable, high‑quality delivery across complex enterprise systems. The role bridges business stakeholders, technology teams, governance bodies, and vendors to deliver solutions that enable WBG’s corporate operations and development mission
Experience
• 10–15 years of experience in product ownership, enterprise systems delivery, or technical program management.
• Proven experience supporting large‑scale, mission‑critical corporate systems (HR, Finance, Procurement, ERP, or similar).
• Strong exposure to regulated, compliance‑heavy environments (public sector, multilaterals, financial institutions).
• Experience with Agile, SAFe, or Hybrid delivery models.
Technical & Domain Skills
• Strong understanding of:
• SDLC and Agile delivery
• Enterprise platforms and integration
• Release and dependency management
• Corporate systems such as HRIS, ERP, procurement, or financial platforms
• Proficiency with:

• MS Project

Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
• Define and maintain the product vision and roadmap for assigned Corporate Systems (HR, Finance, Procurement, ERP, or related platforms).
• Align product strategy with WBG corporate priorities, regulatory requirements, and digital transformation goals.
• Translate business needs into clear product requirements, epics, and user stories.
Backlog Ownership & Release Management
• Own and prioritize the product backlog across functional enhancements, regulatory updates, technical debt, and non‑functional improvements.
• Lead release planning, sprint prioritization, and cross‑team alignment.
• Define acceptance criteria and validate deliverables for release readiness.
Technical Delivery Leadership
• Partner with engineering, architecture, QA, and vendor teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high‑quality product delivery.
• Support Agile/Hybrid delivery teams while maintaining enterprise‑level predictability and controls.
• Oversee integrations, data flows, and dependencies across upstream/downstream WBG systems.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure product delivery adheres to WBG audit, compliance, and control requirements.
• Manage risks, issues, and dependencies across modules, vendors, and internal teams.
• Safeguard data integrity, security, and policy alignment in all product decisions.
• Maintain audit‑ready documentation and support compliance reviews.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
• Serve as the primary product interface for business owners, corporate leadership, delivery leads, and technical teams.
• Facilitate governance forums, steering committees, and cross‑functional alignment sessions.
• Translate complex technical topics into business‑friendly insights for senior stakeholders.
Data‑Driven Insights & Reporting
• Produce executive‑ready dashboards and insights on product health, release progress, demand trends, and risks.
• Leverage Azure DevOps/Jira, Power BI, and other tools to maintain a single source of truth.
• Use delivery metrics to inform prioritization and roadmap adjustments.
Financial & Vendor Governance
• Align product scope and release plans with budget forecasts, actuals, and financial controls.
• Support vendor coordination, contract alignment, and audit‑friendly financial governance.
• Ensure transparency in effort tracking, invoicing, and resource utilization.
Continuous Improvement & Standards
• Drive standardization of product artifacts, metrics, and reporting templates.
• Promote automation, data accuracy, and process optimization across the product lifecycle.
• Champion best practices in Agile product management and enterprise delivery.
Team Leadership
• Mentor analysts and delivery team members supporting the Corporate Systems portfolio.
• Build capability around Agile metrics, dependency management, and regulated product governance.
• Support onboarding, knowledge continuity, and cross‑team collaboration.
