The position will support the preparation, assembly, configuration, inventory, and distribution of developed test tools. Inventoried test tools and systems are distributed globally to electrical engineering, verification, and testing teams across Ford, as well as external Ford development partners. The selected candidate will work closely with existing team members to ensure deliverables to the downstream organizations meet expected requirements and deliverables. Current products support development and testing of next generation Center-stack, Cluster, Connected and Non-Connected Features, and Display Virtualization toolsets across numerous vehicle sub-system domains.
Responsibilities include:
Assemble and prepare test environments for deployment.
o Aluminum frame assembly o Harness installation
o Module Installation o Software installation
o Testing & validation o Package and ship systems to Ford and Non Ford partners.
o Track distribution using approved process/tools- Maintain operation of tool systems
o Troubleshoot and repair tool Systems.
o Monitor and maintain virtual service desk
o Diagnose, update, and repair non-functional systems.
o Manage shipping of components to our fabricators for upcoming system builds.
o Maintain inventory and organization of tools lab
Education: Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred, though applicable knowledge or experience would be acceptable in place of formal education
Required Primary Skills:
- Ability to manage priorities, risks, and issues as they arise.
- Ability to work both independently and as a part of a group.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.
Functional understanding of automotive electrical wiring and wiring schematics
Preferred Primary Skills:
- 2+ years of experience in electrical harness design or fabrication
- Prior automotive or IT support.
Experience utilizing JIRA.
Competency or Skills to be Gained:
- Position will include gaining product development V&V systems business acumen. Support distribution of Ford future product offerings in leading edge technology to deliver connected features in the vehicle. Partnership with the business in a high-growth area, In-Vehicle Infotainment feature development.
