Sr. Developer – Snowflake / Data Engineering
About the role
As a Sr. Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data solutions on the Snowflake platform that support informed decision‑making across the business. You will be a valued member of a collaborative data engineering team and work closely with cross‑functional partners to deliver high‑quality, high‑performance data products aligned to business needs.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and implement robust data solutions using Snowpark Python and Snowflake technologies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and optimize Snowflake Tasks and Streams for efficient data processing.
- Enable real‑time and near real‑time data ingestion using Snowpipe, ensuring reliable and scalable workflows.
- Analyze large and complex data sets and develop optimized Snowflake SQL queries to support analytics and reporting.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance data pipelines to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Provide technical guidance on Snowflake architecture, data modeling, and storage best practices.
- Translate business and stakeholder requirements into actionable, durable technical solutions.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
- Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for all developed solutions.
- Stay current with Snowflake enhancements and emerging technologies to continuously improve data capabilities.
Work model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days per week in a client or Cognizant office, located in Buffalo, NY or Wilmington, DE. What you need to have to be considered
- 10–12 years of experience in development or data engineering roles.
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Snowflake, including Snowpark Python, Snowflake SQL, Tasks, Streams, and Snowpipe.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver scalable, high‑performance data solutions.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, storage strategies, and performance optimization.
- Proven problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills in complex data environments.
- Experience working in Agile or fast‑paced delivery environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively partner with technical and business stakeholders.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until May 17, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $68,000 - $109,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
