Are you passionate about leveraging digital technologies to help Fortune 500 companies to more efficiently monitor and manage their supply chain? If the answer to these questions is “yes”, we have an opening on our North America Sustainability team for a Technology-focused Sustainability Advisor focused on Digital Supply Chains that you might be interested in. The person in this role will be an integral member of Cognizant’s rapidly growing Sustainability Practice, participating in impactful projects with Fortune 500 clients that leverage digital technologies to better meet their sustainability ambitions.

The key responsibilities of this role are as follows:

Responsibilities

• Serve as the domain expert for sustainable supply chains to Fortune 500 ESG leaders as a part of Cognizant’s digital transformation projects. This requires the ability to understand client pain points and then to recommend a digital solution that best meets the client’s needs.
• Identify and recommend best opportunities for emissions reductions, including net zero pathways.
• Lead client facing conversations related to topics such as: sustainable supply chains (e.g. transparency and traceability), sustainable agri-food systems, regulatory compliance (CSRD, EUDR etc) and ESG data management and strategy, with a focus on food and beverage, agriculture commodities, and consumer goods industries.
• Recommend opportunities to efficiently collect and track GHG emissions throughout our clients’ supply chains. Identify and align clients around the opportunities to more accurately track emissions from supply chain.
• Lead and support business and data strategy projects as the supply chain sustainability expert, examining key opportunities across an array of client sustainability program maturity levels. This will require adaptability and an ability to identify with the client where they stand to set an attainable sustainability roadmap.
• Encourage forward thinking solutions and a collaborative communication environment to achieve business buy in.
• Support internal business development and sales teams in formulating the value propositions around ESG data management, sustainable supply chains and agri-food systems
• Develop key partnerships with external organizations for enhancement of offerings and solutions for sustainable supply chains.
• Partner with the sustainability team to create accelerators and high value reusable assets (e.g. content, thought leadership) to drive value for Cognizant clients.

Qualifications

• Experience developing sustainability programs to help clients or key stakeholders to achieve their sustainability goals, specifically with large food and agriculture, retail, or consumer goods corporations
• Experience with FLAG based emissions modelling, including throughout diverse food and ag based supply chains
• Client focused, detail-oriented, organized and independent thinker who is an expert in trends in sustainability legislation, industry and innovation
• Experience with complex international supply chains.
• High level understanding of ESG software solutions, such as Salesforce Net Zero Cloud, IBM Envizi, and Watershed Sustainability Platform.
• Proven success engaging with clients and development teams to identify opportunities for digital technology to help clients to achieve their sustainability goals.
• Familiarity with CSO sustainability reporting frameworks (such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, CSRD, etc.)
• Experience influencing across organization levels, including with senior management
• Exceptional listening, written and verbal communication skills
• 10 years professional experience working in the sustainability space with large corporations
• BS or MS in agricultural or environmental science, MBA preferred


Location: this role can be located anywhere in the USA, Canada or Mexico.
Expected travel: 15%
