About the role
We are looking for an experienced Technology Specialist with strong expertise in Java, microservices, and modern integration tools to design and deliver scalable, high‑quality software solutions. This role involves building cloud‑ready applications, driving innovation, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams in a hybrid work environment.
In this role, you will
- Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality software solutions using Core Java, Advanced Java, Spring Boot, and Java 21.
- Implement and support microservices architecture to ensure scalability, reliability, and flexibility.
- Develop and integrate SOAP and RESTful web services for seamless system communication.
- Utilize Kafka for real‑time data streaming and high‑performance event processing.
- Leverage GitHub Copilot and GitHub Actions to improve productivity, automate workflows, and enhance code quality.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to analyze requirements, solve complex technical challenges, and deliver effective solutions.
- Perform unit testing, debugging, and performance optimization to ensure application stability.
- Apply domain knowledge in asset and wealth management, cards, and payments to align solutions with industry standards.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
- Support day‑to‑day operations by troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices.

What you need to have to be considered
- 7–12 years of hands‑on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Strong expertise with Kafka and distributed systems.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful and SOAP APIs.
- Hands‑on experience using GitHub Copilot and GitHub Actions.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and experience working in collaborative, cross‑functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
These will help you stand out
- Domain experience in asset and wealth management, cards, or payments.
- Certifications such as Certified Java Developer, Kafka Certification, or GitHub Copilot Proficiency Certification.
- Experience optimizing large‑scale, high‑availability applications.
Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $83,600 – $129,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
